Wishing You Sunshine Every Day

söndag 31 juli 2011

Hello, my friends!
It's been a while since I used a stamp from Magnolia to a card, but here comes one to this week's challenge at Just Magnolia. This week it´s about Buttons, Bows & Blooms.
I used the sketch over at Papertake Weekly.

I colored her with Copics and added a little Crystal Stickles.
The designer paper are from GCD Studios.

Then I grabbed a bunch of flower-shaped buttons and tied bows on them.
I have also used one doily, crinkled seam binding and one flower brad.

I found the sentiment on a blog for some time ago, but I don´t remember where.
Thank you for looking!
Hugs, Birgit

I also enter this card in the following challenges:

Magnolia Down Under -Bingo (Flowers,Sparkles,Paint)
Top Tip Tuesday - Make it Girlie
Wags´n Whiskers - Buttons and Bows

Christmas in July

torsdag 28 juli 2011

Hello my friends!
I've sat here and tried to get into the holiday spirit in the middle of summer, but it has not been easy, I say.
I decided to ignore Santa Claus and do a bit more wintery card instead.
I think this flower looks like a Christmas rose, you know, one of those that can blossom in the snow.

I must say that I like these images printed directly on the fabric. This one I found at The Grphics Fairy as well as the reindeer on the inside.

I found a gorgeous black lace with stretch when I was shopping last time at Hobbyhärvan, that I have used.
Other things I have used: Papers from DCWV Winter Wonder Stack and one I do not remember the name of.
Frame: My Design, Stickles: Star Dust, Borderpunch, Flowers, Twine, Button and some Perfect Pearl.

I want to show the inside too.

Entered Challenges:
Mojo Monday - I used the Sketch
Crafty Creations - Christmas in July
Craft Your Passion - Christmas in July
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Shabby Sparkle
Our Creative Corner - All the B´s (Black, Bling, Buttons and Bows)

Thank you so very much for looking. Have a good week!

My Old Bottle

tisdag 26 juli 2011

Happy Tuesday evening everyone!
I am back with a a bottle that I have decorated.
Since I've read that it is possible to print images directly onto a fabric, I had to try it also, of course.
Here are the results. The image I have taken from Magic Moonlight Studio.

The bottle is old and I have had it out in my garden a few years, but now it has been redesigned and will be allowed to stay indoors.

I have used pieces of fabric from old curtains, lace, some twine, gauze bandage, different flowers and one Shapeabilities Fluorish Accent die.

For the sentiment I used one Nellie Snellen die and a stamp from ROX Stamps, which I sponged with Old Paper Ink.
I hung it around the neck of the bottle with a little metal wire.

I thought that a key could also fit to hang there, and so it had to be.

I enter this bottle in the following challenges:

Sukkersött - Pynt ei Flaske eller et Glass
Totally Gorjuss - Punch or Die
Allsorts Challenge Blog - Free and Easy
Sparkles Forum Challenge - Elegant @ Lace

Thats all from me, have a great week!
Hugs, Birgit

Swing on over sometime

söndag 24 juli 2011

Hello my friends...,thank you for your visit.
My card today was made for Stampin Royalty (I used the sketch) and Less is Mores Challenge (Button or Ribbon).

Coloring is done with Copics and the image and sentiment was found at Create with TLC.

I used Black Magic coredinations paper which I sandpapered a little and then punched.
The seambinding was colored in with Distress Ink. Broken China and Faded Jeans.

Dies from Nellie Snellen and Spellbinders.
That´s about it I think.

Thank you for your time!
Hugs, Birgit

Something to rest your head on...

lördag 23 juli 2011

Hello!
Okay, today I want to show you something else than just cards.
And I have amused myself by making this cushion, although I must say that I was very bad at needlework at school.

For the first time I have tryed to transfer an image with textile transfer paper.
Since I have seen that The Graphics Fairy has some nice pictures that can be used to this, I chose one there.

The wider lace is probably handmade by my grandmother and the smaller one is bought at ebay.
Over the wider lace, I have sewn another lace with pearls, it was purchased at my local scrapstore.

That's all from me today, hope you have a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

You Make My Heart Sing

torsdag 21 juli 2011

Hello everyone!
Back again with a card for Less is More, and Alota Rubber Stamps.
This time the challenges is about Circles.
I'm not sure that today's card is enough clean and simple for the Less is More challenge, but I could not resist the beautiful designer paper from Pinkpaislee.
I have had the idea that it is forbidden to use such paper for this sort of cards.

Dies are Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and I have used Impressabilities Fleur De Lis Pattern to emboss the cardstock.
Sentiment stamp from Crafty Secrets, colored with Copics.

Thank you for your time!
Hugs, Birgit

Bonjour

tisdag 19 juli 2011

Hello friends... so happy you stopped by!
Today I have another card to share with you.
I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday.

I started with making a flower. First I used a Shapeabilities Floral Doily Motifs die cut and sponged the edges with Forest Moss.
Then I took a Laura Ashley paper and folded it, in the middle I glued a Pateloo flower.
The background paper is another lovely Laura Ashley paper.

I cut and embossed a Beaded oval Nestabilities and sponged the edges. Then I took an old plastic sticker and placed in the middle.
I added a little bit twine and a bead.
The seam binding was colored in with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Ink. and topped with a Panduro brad.

Before the image and flower was edhered, green and white stipes were sewn on, which I have cut with a Martha Stewart Punch.
A green leaf ribbon and a butterfly metal charm finished of my card.

Not much else to say about my card I guess.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Birgit

Theme of 1920´s

söndag 17 juli 2011

Good morning everyone!
Over at Creatalicious Challenges there are an interesting challenge this week.
They wants us to make a project with the theme of 1920´s.
When I think of 1920's, I think of clean, straightbut yet elegant lines. With glittery details of silver and a little lace or feathers.
Often, it intends to black and white but I have chosen to make my card in soft pastel colors, it also felt right.

I have used the lovely vintage papers from Melissa Frances for the background. They're even more beautiful in real life, the pictures do them no justice.
I have made a frame to the image with two Nesties Labels Four and inked it with Tattered Rose.

I think the white feather and the brad is just right.
Then I made a little tag, and stamped it with some old stamp from Panduro in Tattered rose. I sponged the edges with Old Paper Ink. and added a black and white brad.

Then I used pink ribbon and another satin brad. It didn´t seem quite finished so I added some green beads on the frame.
Then it had to bee enough, in the 1920´s it was not so much decorated I think.

This is a picture from the inside I hope that the fine paper shows.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the lovely comments. I very much appriciate each and every one of them.
Hugs, Birgit

A Purse...

fredag 15 juli 2011

Well, hello again!
Today, I´m sharing a small bag I have made, I'm a little tired of all the cards.
I've been thinking that I should be able to give away a small gift in it to someone.
I hope I have not decorated it too much, I want it to be a bit stylish.

I have used Magnolia paper - Something Blue
Velvet ribbon, White rose ribbon, Lace, Twine, Decorative Pin I made myself with pearls and other parts, Flowers, Star Dust Stickles, A silver metal plate, some blue little flowers which is actually a ribbon that I cut off.
The Congrats text, I have cut out from a PION Design paper and sat in a metal frame.

As always, thanks for looking!
Hugs, Birgit

Cuddly Giraffe

onsdag 13 juli 2011

Hello everyone!
For the first time I was considering not to do any card for Less is More this week.
I went through my stamps and could not find anything that inspired me at all.
Until I saw this cute giraffe at Starry Nights Studio.
I felt immediately that there was a child card, I would do, I have not seen many of them in the challenges of Less is More.
So here it is:

I did not color it a lot, only in soft tones.
This toy car has matching eyes, I think.

The giraffe is dressed up nice today.

Thanks sgain for stopping by.
Hugs, Birgit
